Welcome to my corner of the web. I’m Milad Sefidyan, a lawyer now based in Milan, working where law meets finance and sustainability.

This site brings my CV, projects and education together in one place, in English, Italian and Persian. The blog is where I’ll think out loud.

What I’ll write about

  • Financial regulation and compliance: how rules shape banks and companies, and what compliance looks like in highly regulated sectors.
  • ESG and sustainability law: EU sustainability frameworks, the Sustainable Development Goals, and what it takes for a company to move from commitments to compliance.
  • Geopolitical risk and the economy: notes from my LL.M. research on how geopolitical risk relates to growth and macroeconomic stability.
  • Law and data: empirical legal studies, and using quantitative tools to answer legal and economic questions.

Why three languages?

Persian is my native language, English is the language I work in, and Italian is the language of the country where I live. Some posts will appear in all three, others in just one.
